After sixty years in Midtown Manhattan, L'Oreal USA made a bold decision to leave its disjointed spaces and create a modern office located at Hudson Yards. The goal was to bring 1,400 staff members together in a healthy and collaborative modern office interior design, with the vibe of a startup. L'Oreal's wish list included its flagship store, a cafe, an outdoor terrace, and plenty of casual meeting space. An in-house nail salon and beauty lab would allow for hands-on product testing. The company created its modern office headquarters in 418,000 square feet, spread over ten floors and an open air terrace at Hudson Yards, the mega-development on Manhattan's West Side.
"L'Oréal is a 108-year-old company with the spirit of a startup. We have never stopped reinventing and transforming ourselves, and to us, Hudson Yards represents the reinvention of Manhattan," Frédéric Rozé, president and CEO of L'Oréal USA, stated in a press release announcing the move.
